Sensex up 400pts in early trades; Jaiprakash, DLF lead

The Sensex opened with a significant positive gap of 312 points at 9,277 following the double bonanza - RBI rate cut and government's stimulus package - over the weekend. The Sensex touched a high of 9,406, and is now up 390 points at 9,355.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 72. DLF has soared over 7% to Rs 218.

HDFC has surged 6.5% to Rs 1,531. Reliance Communications, Tata Motors and HDFC Bank have rallied over 6% each to Rs 210, Rs 163 and Rs 943, respectively.

Grasim has moved up nearly 6% to Rs 995. Reliance Infrastructure, Maruti and ICICI Bank are the other major gainers.
