Sensex up 40pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex is now up 40 points at 12,924.

Hero Honda has rallied 3% to Rs 675. Larsen & Toubro has surged 2.4% to Rs 1,604.

HDFC has advanced 1.7% to Rs 1,545. HLL, Wipro, TCS and Satyam have gained 1.4% each at Rs 201, Rs 566, Rs 1,218 and Rs 462, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, ONGC and Reliance are up around 1% each at Rs 702, Rs 876 and Rs 1,361, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 1.6% to Rs 844, and the HDFC Bank has slipped 1.3% to Rs 943. Tata Motors is down 1% at Rs 712.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,004 stocks traded so far, 1,173 have advanced, 759 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
