Sensex up 40pts; Hero Honda, REL shine

The Sensex is now up 40 points at 11,054.

Hero Honda and Reliance Energy (REL) have gained around 1.3% each at Rs 677 and Rs 469, respectively.

SBI, ITC and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 840, Rs 174 and Rs 516, respectively.

BHEL has dropped 1.5% to Rs 2,136 after the company's board could not take a decision on bonus and stock split proposal.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 1,655 stocks traded so far, 1,064 have advanced, 529 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
