Sensex up 40pts; Satyam, Maruti up 2%

The Sensex is now up 40 points at 16,718.

The NSE Nifty is up six points at 4,959.

HDFC has soared over 3% to Rs 2,652. Maruti has surged 2.4% to Rs 895.

Satyam and  Ranbaxy have rallied over 2% each to Rs 421 and Rs 460, respectively.

Reliance Energy, TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 1,514, Rs 861 and Rs 697, respectively.

Tata Motors have gained 1.7% at Rs 705, Reliance is up over 1% at Rs 2,330.

Bharti Airtel has shed 1.8% at Rs 776, and Larsen & Toubro has slipped 1.6% to Rs 3,290.

Reliance Communications and HDFC Bank are down 1.3% each at Rs 534 and Rs 1,372, respectively.

BHEL and Grasim have declined 1% each to Rs 2,753 and Rs 2,079, respectively.
