Sensex up 414pts, Wipro, Satyam firm

The Sensex is now up 414 points at 15,247.

The NSE Nifty is up 114 points at 4,647.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates and Wipro soared around 6.5% each to Rs 214 and Rs 383, respectively. Satyam has zoomed over 5% to Rs 390.

ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 3.7% each to Rs 797 and Rs 660, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have gained around 3.5% each to Rs 2,862 and Rs 640, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have surged over 3% each to Rs 1,272, Rs 783 and Rs 513, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Grasim are the only losers among the index stocks.

Out of 2,645 stocks traded so far, 1,439 have declined, 1,141 have declined and 65 are unchanged.
