Sensex up 425pts; Reliance gains 10%

The Sensex is now up 425 points at 9721.

Reliance Energy has zoomed over 11% to Rs 420. Grasim and Reliance have surged 10% each to Rs 1,722 and Rs 908, respectively.

NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 9.6% each to Rs 110 and Rs 2,062, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,370 stocks traded so far, 1,367 have advanced, 923 have declined and 47 are unchanged.
