Sensex up 42pts; SBI, Ranbaxy weak

The Sensex is now up 42 points at 14,230.

Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have surged around 2% each to Rs 456, Rs 822 and Rs 1,689, respectively.

TCS has rallied 1.7% to Rs 1,308. Wipro, Tata Steel and Reliance have gained 1.3% each to Rs 677, Rs 461 and Rs 1,424, respectively.

SBI, Ranbaxy and Grasim have shed over 2% each to Rs 1,082, Rs 375 and Rs 2,500, respectively.

ACC has dropped 1.5% to Rs 993. HDFC Bank, Gujarat Ambuja, BHEL and Hero Honda are down over 1% each to Rs 1,001, Rs 130, Rs 2,292 and Rs 732, respectively.

Out of 2,622 stocks traded so far, 1,501 have declined, 1,036 have advanced and 85 are unchanged.
