Sensex up 43pts; REL gains 2%

The Sensex opened 30 points higher at 12,736, touched a high of 12,741, and then slipped into the negative zone to a low of 12,664.

The index is now up 43 points at 12,749.

Reliance Energy (REL) has surged nearly 2% to Rs 485. ICICI Bank and ITC are up 1% each at Rs 832 and Rs 142, respectively.

Satyam has slipped 1.3% to Rs 440.
