Sensex up 43pts; REL gains 3%

The Sensex touched a high of 12,420, and then slipped into red to touch a low of 12,361. The index has rebounded and is now up 43 points at 12,409.

Reliance Energy has gained 2.7% at Rs 500. Maruti and Larsen & Toubro are the other smart gainer.

TCS has slipped 1.4% to Rs 1,000. ONGC is the other prominent loser.
