Sensex up 44pts; BHEL, Cipla shine, HDFC slips

The Sensex has moved back to higher levels, and is now up 44 points at 10,985.

BHEL has surged 2.7% to Rs 2,165. Cipla has spurted 2.4% to Rs 604.

NTPC, Hero Honda and Ranbaxy are the other major gainers.

HDFC has dropped 2% to Rs 1,312.

The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 1,906 stocks traded so far, 1,106 have moved up, 737 have slipped and 63 are unchanged.

JJ Exporter has zoomed over 14% to Rs 113. Pratibha has soared 12% to Rs 275. Bajaj Hindustan, M&M Financials, TV18, Goetze India, BL Kashyap, PNCL, Bayer, Hindustan Zinc and Siemens are the other major gainers.

TTK Prestige has plunged 5.5% to Rs 164. Asian Hotels,, Reliance Natural Resources, Balmer Lawrie, Hexaware, VisualSoft and Zee are some of the other major losers.
