Sensex up 44pts in early deals

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 33 points at 12,207. The index touched a high of 12,241, and is now up 44 points at 12,218.

Larsen & Toubro and Satyam have spurted over 1% each to Rs 2,643 and Rs 837, respectively.

Reliance, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Bajaj Auto are the other prominent gainers.
