Sensex up 44pts; Infosys gains 2%

The Sensex is now up 44 points at 11,193.

Hero Honda has rallied nearly 3% to Rs 693. NTPC has surged over 2% to Rs 124.

Infosys has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 1,739. Grasim has added 1.5% to Rs 2,180.

Tata Motors, Reliance, Tata Steel, Ranbaxy and Cipla are up over 1% each at Rs 798, Rs 990, Rs 521, Rs 397 and Rs 239, respectively.

Wipro and ICICI Bank have declined over 1.5% each to Rs 507 and Rs 591, respectively.  Reliance Communications is down 1.3% to Rs 280.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco are down 1% each at Rs 405 and Rs 166, respectively.

Out of 2,397 stocks traded so far, 1,565 have advanced, 763 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
