Sensex up 452pts; REL zooms 13%

The Sensex is now up 452 points at 9748.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 13% to Rs 425. Grasim and Reliance have surged over 10% each to Rs 1,727 and Rs 909, respectively.

NTPC has soared 9.4% to Rs 110, and Larsen & Toubro has rallied 9% to Rs 2,050.

HDFC and ITC are up 8% each at Rs 1,198 and Rs 159, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,388 stocks traded so far, 1,388 have advanced, 963 have declined and 37 are unchanged.
