Sensex up 45pts; Grasim surges 5%

The Sensex rallied to a high of 10,648 - up 463 points from the day's low of 10,185.

The index is now up 45 points to 10,530.

NTPC, Bharti Tele, Larsen & Toubro, Wipro, ACC and Tata Motors have gained over 2% each.

HDFC Bank and Hero Honda have dropped 3.3% each to Rs 760 and Rs 788, respectively. Bajaj Auto has slipped 3% to Rs 2,788.

Cipla, Dr.Reddy's and TCS are down over 2% each.

Out of 1,906 stocks traded so far, 1,094 have declined, 781 have advanced and 31 are unchanged.
