Sensex up 45pts; market breadth positive

The Sensex is now up 45 points at 12,219.

Satyam has spurted 1.5% to Rs 840. Bajaj Auto has gained 1.3% at Rs 2,905.

HDFC, Reliance, TCS, Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 1% each to Rs 1,407, Rs 1,176, Rs 1,036, Rs 854 and Rs 2,635, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Tata Steel are the other smart gainers.

Bharti Airtel has slipped over 1% to Rs 469. ITC is the other notable loser.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 1,969 stocks traded so far, 1,256 have advanced, 649 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
