Sensex up 45pts; Rel Energy gains 3%

The Sensex is now up 45 points at 17,394.

The NSE Nifty is up 18 points at 5,129.

Maruti has surged 3.5% to Rs 794. Reliance Energy has soared nearly 3% to Rs 1,600.

ACC and Ranbaxy have rallied over 2% each to Rs 791 and Rs 419, respectively.

Wipro, Satyam and ONGC have gained nearly 2% each at Rs 430, Rs 447 and Rs 1,016, respectively.

Reliance and Infosys have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 2,468 and Rs 1,605, respectively.

ITC and Grasim are up over 1% each at Rs 203 and Rs 2,825, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Bajaj Auto have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 1,412 and Rs 2,200, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped 2.3% to Rs 615, and SBI has shed 1.6% at Rs 2,080.

Out of 2,629 stocks traded so far, 1,743 have declined, 827 have advanced and 59 are unchanged.
