Sensex up 45pts; Tata Steel surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 46 points at 13,727.

NTPC has surged 4.7% to Rs 149. Tata Steel has rallied 3% to Rs 485, and Dr.Reddy's has advanced 2.6% to Rs 757.

Hindalco and ONGC have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 178 and Rs 859, respectively. HLL and Cipla are up 1.5% each at Rs 244 and Rs 264, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Hero Honda are down 1% each at Rs 1,388 and Rs 740, respectively.

Out of 2,584 stocks traded so far, 1,412 have advanced, 1,075 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
