Sensex up 45pts; TCS advances 2%

The Sensex is now up 45 points at 12,929.

Hero Honda and Larsen & Toubro have rallied over 3% each to Rs 678 and Rs 1,616, respectively. TCS has surged over 2% to Rs 1,227.

HLL, HDFC, Wipro and Satyam have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 201, Rs 1,543, Rs 567 and Rs 463, respectively.

Reliance, Ranbaxy and Maruti are up over 1% each at Rs 1,364, Rs 342 and Rs 807, respectively.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.3% to Rs 943, and Tata Motors is down 1% at Rs 712.

Out of 2,219 stocks traded so far, 1,359 have advanced, 799 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
