Sensex up 45pts; Wipro, ITC shine

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 18 points at 11,104. Fresh buying in the early deals saw the index rally to a high of 11,140. The index is now up 45 points at 11,131.

Wipro has spurted 1.3% to Rs 536. ITC and Gujarat Ambuja have moved up 1% each to Rs 195 and Rs 100, respectively.

BHEL, Hero Honda, Infosys, Satyam, HDFC Bank, Bharti Tele and Bajaj Auto are the other notable gainers among the Sensex stocks.

ACC has slipped 1% to Rs 771.

Larsen & Toubro and TCS are the only other notable losers.

Out of 1,050 stocks traded so far, 832 have advanced, 209 have declined and nine are unchanged.
