The Sensex is now up 465 points at 10,993.
ICICI Bank has zoomed over 16% to Rs 423. HDFC Bank and Reliance Infrastructure have soared 7% each to Rs 1,120 and Rs 551, respectively.
Hindalco has surged 6.6% to Rs 86. SBI and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 6% each to Rs 1,433 and Rs 493, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and TCS have gained 5% each at Rs 727 and Rs 549, respectively.
Hindustan Unilever has moved up 4.5% to Rs 232. Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Steel have advanced over 4% each to Rs 304, Rs 79 and Rs 299, respectively.
Maruti, Larseb & Toubro and DLF have added 3.5% each to Rs 704, Rs 921 and Rs 292, respectively.
Ranbaxy, however, has slipped into the negative zone and is down 2.3% at Rs 286.
