Sensex up 46pts; HDFC Bank drops 3%

The Sensex has rallied to a high of 10,031, and is now up 46 points at 10,027.

Dr.Reddy's rallied 3.8% to Rs 1,336, and Cipla moved up 3% to Rs 546.

Grasim has surged 3% to Rs 1,663. Satyam and Wipro have gained 2% each to Rs 756 and Rs 508, respectively.

Tata Steel, Maruti, Gujarat Ambuja, ONGC, ACC and TCS have advanced over 1% each.

HDFC Bank has shed 3% to Rs 720. BHEL has slipped 2% to Rs 1,825.

Hero Honda, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti have slipped over 1% each.

The market breadth continues to remain negative. Out of 2,472 stocks traded so far, 1,737 have slipped, 680 have gained and 55 are unchanged.
