Sensex up 479pts; REL, L&T top gainers

The Sensex is now up 479 points at 9775.

Reliance Energy (REL) has surged 12.7% to Rs 425. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has rallied 11% to Rs 2,088.

Reliance, Grasim and NTPC have soared over 10% each to Rs 909, Rs 1,722 and Rs 110, respectively.

HDFC and ITC are up 7.5% each at Rs 1,191 and Rs 158, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,337 stocks traded so far, 1,367 have advanced, 923 have declined and 47 are unchanged.
