Sensex up 47pts; ITC, Rel Energy move up

The Sensex is now up 47 points at 16,063.

The NSE Nifty is up 19 points at 4,849.

Tata Steel has soared nearly 6% to Rs 693. Cipla has surged 3.3% to Rs 219.

ITC and Reliance Energy have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 205 and Rs 1,319, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 2% each to Rs 445 and Rs 3,025, respectively.

Satyam and NTPC have gained 2% each at Rs 403 and Rs 201, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, BHEL and Infosys have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 235, Rs 2,022 and Rs 1,466, respectively.

HDFC Bank has tumbled 3% to Rs 1,391. ONGC and ICICI Bank have plunged 2.5% each to Rs 1,045 and Rs 813, respectively.

HDFC and Tata Motors have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 2,612 and Rs 644, respectively.
