Sensex up 48pts; breadth still +ve

The Sensex is now up 48 points at 12,933.

Bharti Aritel and TCS have surged 2.6% each to Rs 770 and Rs 1,244, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has added 2% to Rs 1,512.

Cipla, ONGC and Wipro have gained 1.8% each at Rs 233, Rs 795 and Rs 575, respectively. Satyam has advanced 1.6% to Rs 446.

HDFC, HLL and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 1,588, Rs 186 and Rs 870, respectively.

ITC and Gujarat Ambuja have shed 3.5% each to Rs 149 and Rs 106, respectively. ACC has slumped 2.7% to Rs 760.

HDFC Bank and Grasim have dropped 2% each to Rs 961 and Rs 2,030, respectively. Reliance Energy has slipped over 1% to Rs 476.

Out of 2,540 stocks traded so far, 1,531 have advanced, 933 have declined and 76 are unchanged.
