Sensex up 48pts; Wipro, Bharti lead

The Sensex is now up 48 points at 14,236.

Wipro has surged 1.6% to Rs 679. Bharti Airtel has added 1.5% to Rs 818.

Reliance Communications and Satyam have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 453 and Rs 468, respectively.

Reliance and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 1,423 and Rs 460, respectively.

ACC and Hindalco are the prominent losers.

Out of 2,006 stocks traded so far, 1,210 have advanced, 747 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
