Sensex up 49pts; ACC zooms 8%

The Sensex is now up 49 points at 14,480.

ACC has zoomed 8% to Rs 896. Ambuja Cements has soared 5% to Rs 122, and Grasim has surged 4.5% to Rs 2,615.

Ranbaxy and HDFC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 347 and Rs 1,885, respectively.

Hindalco has dropped 2.5% to Rs 166. Maruti, Bajaj Auto and Hindustan Lever have slipped 1.4% each to Rs 741, Rs 2,101 and Rs 188, respectively.

Out of 2,302 stocks traded so far, 1,475 have advanced, 761 have declined and 66 are unchanged.
