Sensex up 49pts; L&T, HDFC rally 4%

The Sensex is now up 49 points at 10,500.

Larsen & Tourbo (L&T) and HDFC have rallied over 4% each to Rs 2,281 and Rs 1,226, respectively.

Hero Honda has surged over 2% to Rs 779. Tata Motors and NTPC are up 1.7% each.

ACC has slipped over 2% to Rs 769. Satyam has shed 1.7% to Rs 657, and Hindalco is down 1.4% at Rs 177.

The market breadth has improved and is now slightly negative - out of 2,245 stocks traded so far, 1,192 have declined, 994 have advanced and 59 are unchanged.
