Sensex up 501pts; Infosys rallies 5%

The Sensex is now up 501 points at 15,790.

The NSE Nifty is up 142 points at 4,752.

Reliance Energy and Jaiprakash (JP) Associates have zoomed 6.5% each to Rs 1,227 and Rs 213, respectively. ICICI Bank has soared 6% to Rs 853.

Tata Steel has surged 5.3% to Rs 624. Infosys has rallied 5% to Rs 1,430.

DLF and Bharti Airtel have moved up 4.7% each to Rs 626 and Rs 838, respectively. BHEL has added 4.5% to Rs 1,955.

TCS, Hindalco and HDFC Bank have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 855, Rs 160 and Rs 1,387, respectively.

Satyam, Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro are up around 3.5% each at Rs 405, Rs 527 and Rs 3,038, respectively.
