Sensex up 50pts; ACC, Tata Motors drop 2%

The Sensex is now up 50 points at 15,782.

BHEL has zoomed 4.4% to Rs 1,844. Satyam and NTPC have soared 3.8% each to Rs 511 and Rs 164, respectively.

Reliance Energy has rallied 3.5% to Rs 740. Dr.Reddy's has surged 2.7% to Rs 685.

Larsen & Toubro, ONGC and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 2,650, Rs 919 and Rs 1,233, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 2.5% to Rs 803. ACC and Tata Motors have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,117 and Rs 757, respectively.

TCS, Cipla, Maruti, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel and Reliance Communications are down over 1% each to Rs 1,175, Rs 189, Rs 824, Rs 202, Rs 713 and Rs 578, respectively.

Out of 2,644 stocks traded so far, 1,625 have declined, 940 have advanced and 79 are unchanged.
