Sensex up 50pts; BHEL gains 4%

The Sensex touched a new all-time intra-day high of 11,004, and is now up 50 points at 10,991.

BHEL has surged 3.7% to Rs 2,187. Hero Honda has gained 2.8% at Rs 935, and Cipla has moved up 2.2% to Rs 602.

NTPC and Reliance Energy have spurted over 1.5% each to Rs 140 and Rs 649, respectively.

SBI, Grasim, Tata Power, ITC and Hindalco have advanced over 1% each.

HDFC has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 1,312. HDFC Bank has declined 1% to Rs 758.

The market breadth is neutral. Out of 2,438 stocks traded so far, 1,206 have advanced, 1,166 have declined and the rest are unmoved.
