Sensex up 50pts; Tata Steel gains 2%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 173 points at 14,215, touched a high of 14,221, and soon slipped into red to a low of 14,015 - down 206 points from the day's high. The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 50 points at 14,092.

Tata Steel has surged over 2% to Rs 490. ITC and Reliance Infrastructure have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 194 and Rs 906, respectively.

Sterlite has moved up 1.3% to Rs 474. HDFC, DLF and Reliance are up over 1% each at Rs 2,336, Rs 432 and Rs 2,073, respectively.

 

Maruti, ONGC, Satyam and Tata Motors have slipped nearly 1.5% each to Rs 731, Rs 1,057, Rs 365 and Rs 417, respectively.

Ranbaxy is down 1% at Rs 353.
