Sensex up 50pts; Tata Steel soars 6%

The Sensex is now up 50 points at 12,837.

Tata Steel has soared over 6% to Rs 466. Reliance Energy and ACC have surged over 2% each to Rs 498 and Rs 729, respectively.

Tata Motors and Grasim have rallied 1.7% each to Rs 694 and Rs 2,099, respectively.

Hindalco and Gujarat Ambuja have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 132 and Rs 106, respectively. 

HLL, HDFC and Maruti are up 1% each at Rs 200, Rs 1,516 and Rs 753, respectively.

Hero Honda has shed 1.7% to Rs 633. Dr.Reddy's and NTPC are down 1% each at Rs 737 and Rs 160, respectively.

Out of 2,406 stocks traded so far, 1,501 have advanced, 821 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
