Sensex up 50pts; tech stocks shine

The Sensex is now up 50 points at 10,659.

TCS has surged 2.7% to Rs 1,783. Infosys and Satyam have spurted over 1.5% each to Rs 3,127 and Rs 722, respectively.

Hindalco has added 1.7% to Rs 178. Maruti, HLL and Bajaj Auto are up 1.4% each at Rs 809, Rs 232 and Rs 2,774, respectively.

Reliance Communications (RCL) has slipped over 3% to Rs 241. HDFC has dropped 2% to Rs 1,108.

The market breadth is positive - out of 1,893 stocks traded so far, 1,071 have advanced, 757 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
