Sensex up 50pts; Wipro surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 50 points at 20,242.

HDFC Bank and Wipro have soared 2.8% each to Rs 1,750 and Rs 550, respectively.

ICICI Bank and ITC have surged 2% each to Rs 1,245 and Rs 204, respectively.

Tata Steel has gained 1.5% at Rs 906, and Reliance Energy is up over 1% at Rs 2,135.

Tata Motors has slipped over 2% to Rs 736. Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 729 and Rs 964, respectively.

Satyam has shed 1.7% at Rs 452. SBI and Ranbaxy are down over 1% each to Rs 2,370 and Rs 410, respectively.

Out of 2,947 stocks traded so far, 2,053 have advanced, 855 have declined and 39 are unchanged.
