Sensex up 518pts; Metal index soars 9%

The Sensex touched a high of 10,094, and is now up 518 points at 10,063.

The Metal index has zoomed 9% to 7591. FMCG index has surged nearly 7% to 1812. The Auto and Teck indices have gained 6% each at 4573 and 2339, respectively.

Satyam has zoomed 12.5% to Rs 694. Tata Steel has soared 10% to Rs 455.

TCS, HDFC Bank, Hero Honda and Wipro are up 8-10% each at Rs 1,708, Rs 764, Rs 759 and Rs 454, respectively.

Out of 2,383 stocks traded so far, 2,002 have advanced, 346 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
