Sensex up 523pts; BHEL, ONGC gain 4%

The Sensex is now up 523 points at 19,686.

Wipro has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 529. Infosys has soared 5.7% to Rs 1,795, and TCS has surged over 5% to Rs 1,100. Satyam has gained 4% at Rs 445.

HDFC has rallied 5% to Rs 2,863, and Tata Steel has moved up 4.4% to Rs 861.

BHEL and ONGC have moved up 4% each to Rs 2,462 and Rs 1,240, respectively. ICICI Bank has added 3.7% to Rs 1,200.

Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 3.3% to Rs 812, and Bharti Airtel has added nearly 3% to Rs 941.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro are up 2.2% each at Rs 1,684, Rs 1,983 and Rs 4,072, respectively.

Out of 2,840 stocks traded so far, 1,990 have advanced, 809 have declined and 41 are unchanged.
