Sensex up 52pts; HDFC gains 4.5%

The NSE Nifty is down 12 points at 4,848.

HDFC has surged 4.5% to Rs 2,544. Ranbaxy has gained over 4% to Rs 525.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 2.7% to Rs 2,966, and BHEL has advanced 2.4% to Rs 1,638.

HDFC Bank has added 1.9% to Rs 1,350. Hindalco and Bharti Airtel have inched 1.6% each to Rs 193 and Rs 872, respectively.

Infosys has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,918. TCS is up nearly 1% at Rs 1,004.

Hindustan Unilever, ONGC and DLF are the other prominent gainers.

Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 3.3% to Rs 218. Ambuja Cements has tumbled 2.9% to Rs 95.

 

Reliance has slipped 2.4% to Rs 2,407. Reliance Infrastructure has declined 2.1% to Rs 1,220.

Satyam has dropped 1.6% to Rs 518, while ICICI Bank has shed 1.$% to Rs 786.

Wipro is down 1.2% at Rs 506. SBI has declined 0.7% to Rs 1,454.
