Sensex up 52pts; HDFC up 2.5%

The Sensex is now up 52 points at 12,405.

HDFC has rallied 2.5% to Rs 1,475.

TCS has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,060, and Infosys has added 1.3% to Rs 2,007. Wipro is up nearly 1% at Rs 534.

Dr.Reddy's, Grasim, Reliance Energy and Reliance are the other prominent gainers.

HLL and ICICI Bank are down 1% each at Rs 233 and Rs 681, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and ITC are the other notable losers.

Out of 2,411 stocks traded so far, 1,234 have advanced, 1,106 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
