Sensex up 52pts; ONGC gains 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 16 points at 5,055.

BHEL and Jaiprakash Associates have soared over 5% each to Rs 1,865 and Rs 245, respectively. DLF has surged 3.8% to Rs 676.

HDFC have rallied over 3% to Rs 2,565. HDFC Bank and ONGC have gained 2.7% each at Rs 1,485 and Rs 1,058, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 2.5% to Rs 2,918. ITC, Cipla and ACC have added 2.3% each to Rs 214, Rs 231 and Rs 819, respectively.

ICICI Bank has advanced over 2% to Rs 882. Tata Motors is up 1.5% at Rs 632.

TCS has slumped 9.8% to Rs 896. Wipro has plunged 5.8% to Rs 427, and Satyam has tumbled 4.8% to Rs 437. Infosys has shed 2.7% at Rs 1,600.

 

Ranbaxy has dropped 2.5% to Rs 487. Grasim has declined nearly 2% to Rs 2,596.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti are down 1.5% each at Rs 629 and Rs 755, respectively.

Out of 2,730 stocks traded so far, 1,524 have advanced, 1,140 have declined and 66 are unchanged.
