Sensex up 52pts; ONGC, Satyam lead

The Sensex is now up 52 points at 16,392.

The NSE Nifty is up 21 points at 4,885.

ONGC and Satyam have soared around 3.5% each to Rs 993 and Rs 420, respectively. Infosys has surged over 3% to Rs 1,464.

TCS and ITC have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 875 and Rs 189, respectively.

NTPC, Tata Steel and Cipla have moved up 2% each to Rs 194, Rs 793 and Rs 206, respectively.

Hindalco, Wipro, Ambuja Cements and Grasim are up around 1.5% each at Rs 203, Rs 424, Rs 122 and Rs 2,841, respectively.

Reliance Energy has plunged 2.5% to Rs 1,467. Bharti Airtel and DLF have dropped 2% each to Rs 754 and Rs 664, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 1.6% at Rs 694. Larsen & Toubro and Bajaj Auto are down 1% each at Rs 3,192 and Rs 2,180, respectively.

Out of 2,554 stocks traded so far, 1,863 have declined, 629 have advanced and 62 are unchanged.
