Sensex up 538pts; ICICI, HDFC Bank up 6%

The Sensex is now up 538 points at 15,371.

The NSE Nifty is up 151 points at 4,684.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has soared 8% to Rs 217. ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have surged 6.3% each to Rs 817 and Rs 1,310, respectively.

HDFC and SBI have rallied 5% each to Rs 2,315 and Rs 1,672, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have gained 4% each at Rs 789 and Rs 168, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Reliance and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 3.7% each to Rs 516, Rs 2,224 and Rs 2,863, respectively.

Tata Motors, DLF and Wipro are up around 3.5% each at Rs 641, Rs 657 and Rs 372, respectively.
