Sensex up 53pts; Ranbaxy gains 5%

The Sensex continues to exhibit a range-bound movement, and is now up 31 points at 10,076.

Ranbaxy has soared over 5% to Rs 427. HLL has gained 4.4% at Rs 206, and Larsen & Toubro has added 4.3% to Rs 2,300.

Satyam has surged nearly 3% to Rs 753.

Hero Honda and Cipla have rallied 2.4% each to Rs 906 and Rs 566, respectively. ITC has moved up 2% to Rs 162.

Grasim, Dr.Reddy's, Tata Motors, Reliance Energy and Wipro are up over 1% each.

ICICI Bank has extended its losses, and is now down 2.4% at Rs 603.

Bharti Tele has dropped 1.6% to Rs 365, and Infosys is down 1.3% at Rs 2,867.

ACC has declined 1% to Rs 592. NTPC and Hindalco are the only other notable losers among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth continues to remain positive. Out of 2,523 stocks traded so far, 1,531 have moved up, 923 have slipped and the rest are unchanged.
