Sensex up 53pts; Reliance gains 3%

The Sensex touched a low of 10,830, and is now up 53 points at 10,855.

Tata Power has surged 3.8% to Rs 585. Reliance has moved up nearly 3% to Rs 763.

Tata Motors has rallied 2.5% to Rs 917, and Satyam is up 2.3% at Rs 823.

Grasim, HDFC Bank, Gujarat Ambuja, TCS, HDFC, Reliance Energy, SBI, Maruti, Tata Steel  and ONGC are up 1-2% each.

Ranbaxy has declined 2% to Rs 405.

ITC has shed 1.8% to Rs 173. Dr.Reddy's, HLL, NTPC and Wipro are down 1% each at Rs 1,348, Rs 255, Rs 137 and Rs 519, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative. Out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,369 have declined, 1,105 have advanced and 78 are unchanged.
