Sensex up 53pts, Tata Motors zooms 5%

The Sensex is now up 53 points at 9938.

Tata Motors has zoomed nearly 5% to Rs 761. Maruti and Hindalco have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 749 and Rs 161, respectively.

Tata Steel, Grasim, Cipla and Bajaj Auto are up 2.5% each at Rs 474, Rs 1,800, Rs 216 and Rs 2,715, respectively.

NTPC and Infosys are up around 2% each at Rs 112 and Rs 2,854, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has shed 3.6% to Rs 2,038. SBI has declined 2.3% to Rs 750. Wipro is down nearly 2% at Rs 432.

Out of 2,301 stocks traded so far, 1,395 have advanced, 838 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
