Sensex up 54pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 54 points at 15,845.

The NSE Nifty is up 30 points at 4,777.

Reliance Energy has soared 5.6% to Rs 1,243. TCS has surged 3.5% to Rs 908.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 2% to Rs 620. Satyam, Hindalco and Ambuja Cements have moved up over 1.5% each to Rs 434, Rs 175 and Rs 122, respectively.

Reliance and Larsen & Toubro have advanced nearly 1.5% each to Rs 2,452 and Rs 2,671, respectively.

Jaiprakash Assocaites and Bharti Airtel have dropped over 2% each to Rs 215 and Rs 802, respectively.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.8% to Rs 1,351. ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy are down over 1.5% each to Rs 823 and Rs 463, respectively.

Out of 2,568 stocks traded so far, 1,810 have advanced, 674 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
