Sensex up 54pts; Dr.Reddy's, Grasim surge 3%

The Sensex is now up 54 points at 11,948.

Dr.Reddy's and Grasim have surged 3% each to Rs 758 and Rs 2,397, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Satyam, ACC and TCS have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 115, Rs 816, Rs 946 and Rs 1,012, respectively.

Reliance, Ranbaxy and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 1,130, Rs 417 and Rs 638, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Hero Honda have slipped 2% each to Rs 318 and Rs 763, respectively. NTPC has dropped 1% to Rs 128.

Reliance Energy and HDFC Bank are the other prominent losers.

Out of 2,395 stocks traded so far, 1,223 have declined, 1,081 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
