Sensex up 54pts; Hindalco rallies 3%

The Sensex is now up 54 points at 11,140.

Ranbaxy is up 3.6% at Rs 412. Hindalco has rallied 3% to Rs 178.

Satyam has spurted 2.2% to Rs 839. Infosys and Wipro are up 2% each at Rs 3,017 and Rs 539, respectively.

Reliance Energy has moved up 1.3% to Rs 614. Cipla, ITC, ONGC and BHEL are up over 1% each to Rs 639, Rs 195, Rs 1,293 and Rs 2,134, respectively.

ACC - down 1% at Rs 771 - is the sole major loser among the Sensex stocks. HDFC and Grasim are the other notable losers.

Out of 2,408 stocks traded so far, 1,576 have moved up, 770 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
