Sensex up 54pts in early trades

The Sensex opened almost flat at 18,519 - up six points. The index slipped into red to a low of 18,460, and then rebounded and is now up 54 points at 18,567.

BHEL has gained 1.5% at Rs 2,307. TCS, ONGC and Reliance Energy are up around 1% each at Rs 1,060, Rs 1,119 and Rs 1,669, respectively.

Wipro has slipped 2% to Rs 477. Maruti has shed 1.5% at Rs 1,102.

Bajaj Auto and HDFC are down 1% each at Rs 2,451 and Rs 2,518, respectively.
