Sensex up 55pts; ICICI, Bajaj shine

The Sensex is now up 55 points at 11,754.

Cipla and Ranbaxy have gained 2% each at Rs 255 and Rs 415, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Bajaj Auto have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 608 and Rs 2,744, respectively. HDFC Bank has added 1.5% to Rs 866.

Tata Steel and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 502 and Rs 444, respectively.

ONGC, Hero Honda and Wipro are down nearly 1% each.

Out of 2,422 stocks traded so far, 1,212 have advanced, 1,126 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
