Sensex up 56 points

The Sensex has surged 56 points to 9446.

HDFC with leading the upmove and the stock is up 3% at Rs 1,229.

Dr.Reddy's at Rs 982 and Hero Honda at Rs 864 are up 2% each.

BHEL, Gujarat Ambuja, Hindalco and Maruti are the other prominent gainers.

Bajaj Auto and Cipla are the only stocks in red.
